Hardware Assembly & Quality Assurance

(Full-Time Junior Position Staff Level-1 Semi-Technical):

This is an opening for an individual who is willing and eager to expand his/her hardware knowledge with specialized applications such as: RAID Data Storage, DAS, NAS, SAN, iSCSI and Clustering Servers.

This is a full-time position offering minimum 37.5hrs a week with 3-5 hours occasionally on the weekend.

* Note: We encourage only individuals with great interest in hardware and general knowledge of PC and Server assembly and multiple operating systems to apply. Please do not apply for this position if your main interests are in programming, networking, computer security or any non-hardware related IT field.

This position requires the individual to have the following qualities, skills and background:

  • Have general knowledge and understanding of computer hardware components especially data storage devices and their use.
  • Willing to face new challenges on daily basis in dealing with IT professionals from different organizations, government, mid-size and large corporations.
  • Patient enough to grow with the company over time and learn many aspects of day-to-day operations, as well as be multi-tasking and flexible in doing any job any day.
  • Be a good communicator, feel comfortable on the phone dealing with clients, vendors and resellers in relation to Synetic products.
  • Have high desire for learning and be great following the instructions and watch for details.
  • Be familiar with basics repair tools and willing to do component and unit assembly for data storage units, PC and servers.
  • Can take educated initiative, be self-disciplined and enthusiastic about hardware and data storage related technology.

Additional Assets:

  • Be able to install multiple OS (Windows Desktop and Windows Servers, Linux etc.) and software programs, skills in using desktop publishing software applications such as: Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Have minimum high-school diploma (post-secondary education is preferred). Preference is given to applicants with formal certificate or diploma from a recognized institution.
  • Knowledge of stock inventory process, shipping and receiving, RMA (Return of Material Authorization) and willingness to offer assistance for warehousing.
  • Valid BC Drivers Licence and eligible for Canadian Passport.
